When you search your project, you can find items stored in most of the project's item collections: maps, toolboxes, databases, folders, and so on. In all cases, you type a search term (or terms) in the search box and press Enter to get results.Ī project search can return datasets and project items such as map layers, scenes, maps, and layouts. Each offers a slightly different experience. Searches can be performed in the catalog view, Catalog pane, or the browse dialog box. Searches can also help you explore large collections of data.

Searches can help you find specific items of interest-for example, a dataset you need for a geoprocessing tool or a map that contains a certain layer. The documents that match your metadata search are shown on the results page.You can search your ArcGIS Pro project for data and for project items such as tools, maps, layouts, and reports. To add a custom site column to your search, select Add more options, and then select the name of the site column. This is especially useful if you have a model running on the library because the metadata extractors automatically populate information into site columns. You can also search for custom site columns that are in the current library view. Default content types are document and folder.

This option will only appear if there's a non-default content type applied to the library. Search by selected file type (for example, Word document or PDF). Search by selected date range in the Modified column in the library. Search for a match on people in any column in the library. Search in the Name column in the library. Search for a string match in metadata or in the full text of a document. The following metadata search fields are currently available.

In the metadata search pane, type the text or select the parameter you want to find in one or more of the search fields. To use advanced metadata searchįrom a SharePoint document library, in the Search this library box, select the metadata search icon ( ). This feature is available only for users who are licensed for SharePoint Syntex.
